Parva Window Replacement
- 2mm hex key
- 10mm socket or wrench
- 1/2-inch socket or wrench
- #1 Phillips screwdriver
- spudger or flat-head screwdriver
- scraper or razor blade
Procedure:
- Place Parva on a clean, flat surface and remove all connections.
- Using a 2mm hex key, loosen the knob set screws and remove the knobs.
- Using a 10mm socket or wrench, remove the potentiometer nuts and washers.
- Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the eight top-case screws. There are four on the front and four on the back.
- Place the Parva face down on your work surface and carefully pry up the bottom case.
- Remove the three ribbon cables from the I/O boards.
- Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw between the power switch and power connector.
- Using a 1/2-inch socket or wrench, remove the nut and washer from the headphone jack.
- Remove the main I/O board and set aside.
- Using a 1/2-inch socket or wrench, remove the nuts and washers from the ten output jacks.
- Remove the output board and set aside.
- Release the nylon standoff in the corner of the mainboard, then lift the mainboard out of the top case and set aside.
- Using a plastic spudger or flat-bladed screwdriver, carefully pry up one end of the acrylic window.
- Lifting straight up, continue pulling the window out.
- Using a razor blade or scraper, remove the old adhesive.
- Place new VHB tape strips beside the window opening and press down firmly to activate adhesive.
- Remove the clear plastic film from the VHB strips.
- Remove the backing from one side of the new acrylic window.
- Place the window directly over the case opening, shiny side down, and press down firmly.
- Remove the backing from the newly installed window.
- Install foam tape between each of the OLED display modules by aligning the bottom edge of the tape with the top edge of the display glass, then aligning the top edge with the bottom the next screen up.
- Cut one piece of foam tape in half lengthwise to cover the top of the first module and bottom of the last module.
- Place the mainboard into the top case.
- Secure the mainboard with a finger-tight nut and washer on the Volume pot and encoder A.
- Reverse steps 2 through 12 to re-assemble.
